When this dress first caught my eye, I knew I had to have it. The vibrant shade of yellow is a striking color. The dress certainly made waves on my Instagram when I first teased this photo below. So I know I’m not alone in my love for this bandhini gown by Crazyheart.
Designer Ruchi Jain is the brains behind Crazyheart, a contemporary womenswear brand from Jaipur. Ruchi melds traditional Rajasthani tie dye techniques with cutting edge silhouettes. Her designs have been featured in the Indian version of Grazia, Vogue, and Femina. This gown in particular was on the cover of Conde Nast Traveller India.
What I love about Ruchi’s designs are the unexpected forms she creates with her hand dyed materials. This particular gown has a lovely flared skirt, perfect for an all-night dance fest, and a sexy cut out back. If you check out her lookbook, she’s created vibrant bandhini and tie dye prints in paperbag harem pants, button-down shirts, hi-low midis, and more.
Her equally talented sister Ritu Jain Singh, who I’ve featured before, co-owns their Jaipur store Kalee with her. The boutique showcases a melange of independent designers from around India. The two necklaces I’ve layered together by Micare were purchased at Kalee. Consult the sisters to curate your dream Indian wardrobe with everything from traditional ethnic Indianwear to fusion Eastwest styles.
