Spring Blues

How was everyone’s Mother’s Day? I spent some quality time showering my mother with love. Naturally I planned way in advance and booked a table at swanky Taco Bell. Just kidding! We went to Cooper’s Hawk, a nice chain restaurant near my house. My parents are humble people and don’t require fancy things to impress them. They asked me to help choose some things from the menu. When the potstickers arrived, they were like, “Wow! It’s just like wearmie,” an Indian dish we make at home. They proceeded to compare its wrapper to roti. If they can find a similarity to an Indian dish, it’s a winner! My mom was happy when the waiter brought her a carnation. And I was just happy to hang out with the cool crew for an afternoon.

Right now, I’m obsessed with simple and cute maxis like this one from J.Jill. The A-line cut of the J.Jill linen tank dress gives the horizontal stripes an extra bit of shape. A skinny paisley scarf adds a subtle mix of prints while a navy jacket adds texture. I can’t resist mixing different shades of the same color. And of course, I adore dresses with pockets. The more the merrier.

When it comes to spring blues, these are anything but sad. I love this spring look and it’s going on repeat this season.
