Jewelry Armoires: Organization for the Jewelry Obsessed

I am a jewelry fanatic. I see something bright and shiny, and like a child, I want it. The problem is, sometimes after purchasing a piece of jewelry, I might completely forget that I own it. This is because my jewelry drawer is a mess. See Exhibit A:

This drawer looked like a disaster for 8 months until I had enough. I worried about losing items. I worried that if I left my jewelry on display on top of my dresser, it might tarnish. And I especially worried about not being able to see what was available so that I could plan my outfit properly. Instead of being fun, picking out jewelry was kind of a pain with all the digging around I had to do.

So while perusing one of my current favorite home shopping sites – Joss & Main – I found this traditional jewelry armoire, the Deanna Jewelry Armoire by Linon. See Exhibit B:

I hadn’t really ever given jewelry armoires a thought before. I’ve owned several jewelry boxes which have been mostly for decorative purposes. Although pretty, jewelry boxes have never been able to contain my burgeoning collection. So when I saw this, I thought why not give it a try? Let’s just see how much I can fit in this sucker.

Take a look:

You get the picture…

All my jewelry fits! Now let’s hope that I don’t buy anymore…

The bright side is I can finally see all my jewelry clearly. Plus, when getting ready, it will be easy to find a piece and just as easy to put it back. Don’t you love getting organized?

If you’re thinking about purchasing a jewelry armoire for yourself, size is important. Therefore, consider how much space you’ll need for your jewelry and where you might place the armoire in the room. Check out these lovely options below. If I had no budget, my favorite would be the “Designer” one at the bottom.

Mahogany: Glendale Mahogany Jewelry Armoire (JewelryArmoire.com) / Rustic Red: Ningbo 4-drawer Red Jewelry Armoire (Overstock.com) / Roomy: Chelsea Jewelry Armoire (PB Teen) / Silver: Ultimate Accents Circa Silver Jewelry Chest (bellacor) / Contemporary: Hadley Floor Jewelry Armoire – High Gloss White (hayneedle.com) / Designer: George Nelson Style Nine Drawer Miniature Chest (inmod)
