One of the simplest and certainly most delicious ways to try a new culture is through its food. I love to travel and at times cannot afford the time or the cost of the trip. When I lived in New York City, it was easily one of the best places to try any type of food you could imagine. But now that I am in St. Louis, it is nice to have access to some of the finer things around the world.

Try the World is a new delivery service which sends a curated box of gourmet foods from exotic destinations around the world. Within each box are local foods from a particular city that provide an authentic flavor of the region. Get the Paris box first and receive a box from a different country every 2 months. A sample of items from the Paris box includes aromatic teas from Les Palais Des Thés, Clément Faugier’s delicious chestnut spread, salt from Le Saunier De Camargue and more. Plus there may be a selection of movies, music and cultural tips from each country.

You pay $45 per box. Shipping and membership are free. After you receive your first box, they will email you your next destination. Other boxes have curated goods from Rome, Tokyo and Istanbul with new locations coming soon.

I think these boxes are a unique option for a wedding, birthday or holiday gift. Plus, it could be a great date night activity to try. Have you checked out Try the World boxes? What did you think?
