Chairish: Color Couples

Need a color refresh for your home? Chairish, an online vintage furniture retailer, sent me their favorite color combinations trending this season including: peacock and dove, peach and tangerine, caramel and brass, amethyst and emerald and finally persimmon and cornflower. They asked me share which color combination inspired me. Usually I might lean toward the peacock and dove combination. To step outside my comfort zone, I thought it would be fun instead to try out caramel and brass, a more traditional pairing with masculine undertones.

Why I Love Caramel & Brass

Easily blend tastes as a couple: Incorporating these colors into your design is a great way to mesh feminine and masculine aesthetics. Caramel brings in an earthy, handsome feel. Its light tone complements the bright and flashy brass, which has a more glamorous effect that many ladies love.

Act as neutrals: Easily pair them with other colors. If you are looking to redecorate often, just maintain key caramel and brass pieces and swap out other furniture or paint in other colors for a brand new look.

Timeless feel: Caramel and brass are unlikely to ever go out of style. Depending on how you style these colors, you can go modern or traditional. A weathered leather chair with a brass etagere is always classic.

Below is a room I styled with pieces all from Chairish. With brass and caramel as a neutral base, I was able to add other colors easily. I went with teal and green. An oversized painting breaks up the color scheme nicely and hangs on the wall behind the couch. You could also add a wooden credenza below the painting for storage. A beautiful brass chandelier caps it all off. What do you think?
