Sometimes a simple maxi isn’t so simple. What I love about this particular dress is the rise and fall of the asymmetrical hem and of course the vivid cobalt hue. It is universally flattering with a cinched waist that allows you to easily fold over the upper half to hide any lingering muffin tops.
While you could pair just about any bright color with this dress, I stuck to a palette of cobalt and gold. I wanted to let the beautiful cobalt blue do the talking. The Danielle earrings by Kendra Scott (c/o Kendra Scott) mirrored the dress beautiful, with a hint of iridescence. These statement earrings are fast becoming my favorite with the fresh pop of color they provide – like candy for the ears! In the future, I’d like to test out turquoise additions to this look too.
I shot these photos at the beautiful graphic wall outside the Hotel Ignacio on Olive street in downtown St. Louis near Saint Louis University. In addition to this fun wall, the Moto Museum next door features vintage motorcycles from 1900 to 1975. Or stop by Baiku Sushi lounge, a fun dinner spot with delicious Japanese bites.
