I have finally jumped on the buffalo plaid bandwagon. The pattern has been everywhere and you can see why it’s so popular. The festive print is bright, yet casual and everyone loves a good plaid. If you have yet to try the print, this Gap Checkered Shirtdress is on sale right now. And if you shop on the right day, Gap usually has an extra discount available.
There are two more elements in this look that I wanted to share. I’m obsessed with berets this season. Not only are they chic (they are French so they have to be!), but they also keep your ears warm. And secondly, I wore this dress over my faux-suede Nygard Slims leggings (c/o Nygard Slims sold at Dillard’s). The texture on these leggings is super soft — I couldn’t stop touching them.
While it is a bit of an effort to slide them on, once you’ve got them at waist level you realize why. The leggings have a few key features that make them so slimming. With the use of “Slimcurve Technology”, they 1) flatten the belly, 2) lift the butt and 3) slim the waist to minimize muffin tops. Plus the fabric is breathable so they are ultra comfortable to wear, despite the slim tech. The leggings are also available in petite, which I’m wearing, on the brand’s website here.

Disclaimer: I was provided the Nygard Slims leggings as a gift to review, but all opinions are my own.
