Congratulations! We survived the weekend that was Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I have finally returned from five days with family in Los Angeles where I did very little but eat, eat, shop, and eat. Yes, I doubled down on Thanksgiving and went whole hog on turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and more. I guess you can say i sinned in the gluttony department. My belly may have expanded to about a trimester size food baby. I also shopped the sales and did a pretty good job of controlling myself up until Monday. And then I was like, it’s now or never. Or face the wrath of shopper’s regret. I bought this blush coat earlier this season at a 50% discount. So I’m not sure why I believe sales like Black Friday are now or never. But it just seems fun to get swept up in the action, especially as friends share their favorite deals and steals. This coat has sold out in blush, but is still available in light grey and a beautiful olive shade.
Now that the shopping bonanza is over, we can finally break the spell of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I might have gone crazy calculating the best discounts, making trade offs for what I wanted vs. what I really needed. Let’s just say if it involved sparkle, it was more than likely to end up in my shopping cart.
For the rest of the month, I am going to get back on track with normal eating habits (i.e. not having pie for breakfast and a midnight snack). And I’m also going to nurse my heavily used and abused credit card back to life. For now, let’s enjoy this gorgeous blush coat and matching heels.
Did you overindulge this Thanksgiving weekend?
