Can you believe 2016 is almost over? At the end of the year, it’s easy to wonder how quickly the time has flown by and question what you accomplished over the year. One of the things I love about a blog is that you have a record of exactly what you’ve done over time. The blog becomes a valuable way to assess the impact of your work, and feel a sense of accomplishment. This year, I self-photographed almost 70 outfit looks for the blog. Without further ado, here is the Best of What I Wore in 2016 — 10 of my favorite looks of the year.
What I Wore 2016: Challenges
Equipped only with my tripod, camera, and iPhone app, I took almost all of this year’s outfit looks myself. In the process I have had several frozen fingers, passersby asking if I’m a model, countless catcalls, a major car accident on the way back from a shoot, multiple wardrobe malfunctions, and sore blistered feet (high heels are an occupational hazard). I have also been escorted out of locations for shooting without permission (as bloggers it’s easier to ask for permission after the fact haha). But with all of the hard work and minor challenges, I have gained so much in photography skills, a better appreciation for my city, and an applied study of fashion trends this year. As my readers, I hope you have been inspired by my style this year. And I look forward to inspiring you further in 2017.
