Coffee with cake is a venerable American tradition. I love finding cute little places where I can get my caffeine on with a pretty pastry. I visited the bright and contemporary new eatery, Russell’s Bakery & Café in Chesterfield, MO, open for brunch daily until 3pm.

The café life is for me. It’s where I can take a breather and enjoy the sweet side of things. Russell’s Café Chesterfield is my new favorite bakery in West County. It’s perfect for a quick brunch with the ladies, a weekend pastry run, or a hot cup of Kaldi’s coffee.
All About Brunch at Russell’s Café & Bakery
Their brunch menu is extensive, which is why I recommend browsing Russell’s Café Menu online before you go. The line goes quickly. While you’re standing there ogling the menu and considering the many ways to delight your appetite, you’ll be grateful to have a set order in mind. Otherwise you’ll reach the register with ten things you want to order and 30 seconds to decide.
My current favorite is the chicken and smoked gouda grilled sandwich. It’s chewy, gooey, and oh so savory. Other popular items include Macaroni & Cheese made with croutons, Maple Chili Glazed Fried Chicken with buttermilk biscuits and molasses butter, and the Breakfast Hash with fingerling potatoes and fontina cheese. I’m getting hungry just thinking about all of it.
Gooey butter cake, brownies, bear claws, and more are made from scratch daily. Your eyes may become cartoon like when you see the selection of pastries and cakes available at Russell’s Café. They will will tempt you as you walk through the line, waiting to take your order. If you’ve got any sort of a sweet tooth, you will crack and order something frosted, sugar dusted, or chocolate chipped for sure.
Opened in November 2017, Russell’s Bakery & Café in Chesterfield took over the old St. Louis Bread Co. location at Baxter and Clayton. With so many memories eating there in high school, I thought I’d miss the Bread Co. there. But it’s always fun to see new places emerge, especially locally owned restaurants with uniquely charming personalities.
I do love brunching and this new place looks really cool! Would love having my brunch in there. Have a nice day. xx
