I’m always looking for cute and clever spaces in my city to hang, eat, or work at. Whether you’re in St. Louis like me or in a big city like NYC, it’s fun to discover new hot spots. The best part is sharing them with friends. Bragging rights for finding cool places are their own reward. But when a space makes you feel like you’re somewhere other than your city, you know it’s extra special. That’s how I felt when I stepped into St. Louis’s new craft smoothie & juice bar, Hello Juice St. Louis.
Jordan and Kayla Bauer came up with the idea for Hello Juice on their Hawaiian honeymoon. While enjoying smoothie bowls at an island juice bar, they realized St. Louis had nothing like it. Over the next year they experimented with pop-up juice shops and launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund their venture. Their ultimate goal was to take the idea one step further from a grab-and-go juice bar and make it a lounge — somewhere you’d want to come stay a while.

The Ambience at Hello Juice
When you step into this St. Louis juice bar and smoothie lounge, it’s got that California laid-back chic vibe. Bright natural light shines through wall-to-wall windows, bouncing off the high ceilings to create an open and inviting atmosphere. Leafy plants, rattan furniture, and macramé wall hangings decorate the space in earthy tones. And of course, lots of photogenic smoothie bowls and fancy toast are on the menu to delight your senses.
The Hello Juice Menu
Speaking of the food, Hello Juice endeavors to be as local and organic as possible. The juice selection varies daily depending on what’s fresh and in season. The day I walked in there was a watermelon blend that sounded oh so refreshing.
If you’re looking for something a little heartier, they have a rotating list of smoothie options available in a cup ($7.50), great for on-the-go or with some toast, or a bowl ($9.50) for a fuller meal. If you want to get fancy, you can add extra toppings like granola, chia seeds, coconut, berries, or a wellness boost. Other options on the Hello Juice menu include salads ($9), toast ($5), coffee ($5), and yogurt bowls ($5).

Ocean Smoothie Bowl at Hello Juice St. Louis
For a blend of sweet and savory, I suggest ordering a cup of the Acai smoothie and a slice of Avocado Seed toast (featuring local bread from Knead Bakehouse). They’ve recently introduced bone broth to the menu, just the thing to warm you up and boost your immune system during the winter season.
Located at 1000 S Newstead, Hello Juice is within walking distance of Central West End, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, The Cortex, and The Grove. This St. Louis juice bar is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. With free wi-fi and great street parking, you might find me there clicking away at my computer with a glass of fresh pressed juice by my side. For more information, visit them on the web.
