Doing nothing is so nice. I spent part of Sunday in bed catching up on a little light reading and enjoying not so light snacks. My bed is one of those things that I can’t get enough of. Why get up when you can sink further into oblivion without a care in the world? The minute you pop up, the world awaits and sometimes I want to keep all that chaos at bay for a little while longer. That’s what a lazy Sunday is for.
By the way, have you caught the new issue of Elle Magazine? It’s so nice to see the cover of a major U.S. fashion magazine feature diverse women like Priyanka Chopra, Viola Davis and Taraji P. Henson (also shared with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Olivia Wilde). Why is this such a big deal in 2016? It should be the status quo by now. Apparently the number of women of color featured in this issue is the same number featured in all of 2015 by Elle. At least it’s progress. One thing that still bothers me: why do women of color in the U.S. have to share the cover in order to get on one? I can’t wait until at least half the issues each year feature a woman of color who gets that cover all to herself! What do you think?
